A Movie With Nice Musics: In The Mood For Love

     Hi dear friends. Today we will have a different topic. We will discuss about a movie. The topic is not only movie but also soundtracks of movie. The name of movie is In the Mood for Love.

     Have you ever fallen in love desperately? Have you ever felt pain because of despair? Even have you ever cried in such situations? You will certainly find something from yourself in this movie. As you guess, it is a romantic movie which is my favourite romance-drama movie. The movie was released in 2000. It was shot in China,Hong Kong ,Cambodia. Especially, Angkor Wat Temple fascinated  me.

     The story happens in Hong Kong. Chow Mo-wan and Su Li-zhen are main characters. Chow and Lizhen move into same building at the same day with their spouses. When they were carrying stuff they met by chance. Their spouses often have business travel. So Chow and Li-zhen usually spend their free times together as two friends. One day. when they had meal in a restaurant, they noticed they were being cheated. After that, a hard question was waiting for them: What should they do?


     In my opinion, the movie is a picture of pure love. You can feel it on many scenes. There was not even a kissing scene. Director shows us that the meaning of love is not same with physical contact.  Shooting methods on this movie like frame in frame or slow motion scenes are very original. The movie was also poetic for me. There were a few captions in the movie. I will share them below. Love has never been displayed like in this movie.


     Caption 1: It is a restless moment. She has kept her head lowered... to give him a chance to come closer. But he could not, for a lack of courage. She turns and walks away.

     Caption 2: He remembers these vanished years. As through looking through a dusty window pane, the past is something he could see but not touch. And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct.


     I forgot writing about musics. The composers are Shigeru Umebabashi and Michael Galasso. I wonder what these composers eat and drink to create such masterpieces. The musics are reflection of movie  I think. You feel sadness of love when you listen them. Especially Yumeji's theme will follow your soul after the movie finish.

As a summary, love is a pain dear friends. I can hear most of you don't accept this idea. No, lovers who are together has a different status I think. A different word should be invented for them) There is a  mystic power of  being far from each other. When you overcome the obstacles between you and he/she   these clouds of mystic power is being scattered instantly. Albert Camus says" When something is obtained, it is lost." Anyway, this is the end of our blog this week.  I hope you will like the movie.

        There is an unusual Japanese word: Boketto. It means gazing vacantly into the distance without thinking. Sometimes you listen some sort of musics and boketto mood occurs. When I listen Anna RF it happens to me. So, who is Anna RF? Let's discuss about it.         Anna RF is a band which has three main members. I told "main members". Because you can see different faces in their movie clips.         Anna RF means "I don't know" in Arabic-Hebrew language.         Their music is basically mid-east music although they use electronic instruments. They try to mix East music and West music but they are well known with their Eastern style musics. Moreover, they wear Eastern style clothes in their most of movie clips. Itzhak Perlman

   It is very hard to talk about masters. You try to say words adorned with praise but it beggars description. Nevertheless, I will try to write about Itzhak Perlman.          Itzhak Perlman is widely considered the greatest living violinist. He started to play violin when he was four years old. At the same age he was struck with infantile paralysis but he didn't give up playing violin. At this point, he had pretty difficult times. Because children want to run or want to play.On the other hand, being handicapped was a big obstacle for his career. Nevertheless, his talent surprassed all obstacles.He says that people who assert their inabilities as the reason of their failures should take a lesson from his life.
