Michelle Gurevich

Greetings.Today I have a feeling which makes me happy somehow I don’t know. Maybe it is because of my imagination. I imagined many things except dragons) Is it only me or are you happy too when you imagine something?Anyway, it is not a good day to be happy. Because I will write about Michelle Gurevich a.k.a Chinawoman.

Michelle Gurevich is originally from Russia althought her nickname is Chinawoman. The most interesting thing about her music is her style I think. She is making depressive musics but it fills her with pride. She is not pessimistic. When I was a teenager my mother told me she had a vision of me playing guitar and singing in a smoky bar.” Her mother corrects my hypothesis)) However, you can listen some  joyful musics of her like “Russian Ballerina”.

When I listened her first time, I thought that the singer was a man. When I saw her videos I couldn’t believe my eyes: A woman was singing with a boy’s voice. A few weeks later I accepted the truth.

I recommend you to listen her songs at night or else her depressive songs will may ruin your day)) In my opinion she is a singer of darkness. Listening to her songs also would be nice when it rains. Dark, rainy and depressive… There is certainly Russia)) I feel same feeling when I read Dostoyevski or Gogol.

“Party girl” is one of my favourite song.

Lyrics:
It doesn't matter What you create If you have no fun Pretty girl Put down your pen Come over here I'll show you how its done I can dance, I can drink In the dark It's all a trick Across the room, across the street I'm in the moment Can't you see I'm a party girl Do a twirl See my eyes, throw a glance Can't you see I'm a natural Life of a party girl, funny girl Make you laugh, want me bad Now I feel so much better In the back Of a car I just met them tonight and I feel like such a star What's your name What's your art Nobody knows About my broken heart Yes I'm a party girl Crazy girl See my lips, how they move Can't you see I'm a natural Life of a party girl Sexy girl I used to be so fragile But now I'm so wild What did you do last night? Oh, I was out so late, now I'm so tired What did you do last night? Oh, I was out so late, now I'm so tired I'm a party girl Do a twirl See my eyes, throw a glance Can't you see I'm a natural Life of a party girl, funny girl Make you laugh want me bad Now I feel so much better I used to cry But now I don't have the time I used to be so fragile But now I'm so wild I used to cry But now I don't have the time I used to be so fragile but now I'm so wild So wild

Where Goes the Night

Lyrics:
Tell me again
Where goes the night
A place untouched by time
The streets I knew as a child
It's all still there
Where goes the night

Our summers play on repeat
Where goes the night
In stone stands a kiss
From an ancient time
The kindness gone unseen
Now in sight
Sleep tight
They're doing fine
Where goes the night

The seasons are outsmarted
Where goes the night
The leaves we thought departed
They're alright
Your eyes still gleaming in the dark
When you were mine
I'll always find
Where goes the night

           Lovers are strangers... Aren't they

Lyrics:
Eyes will drift to the sky
In time
While arms keep holding tight

There's a party in full force
Still the guests
Can't help but watch the door

Expressing your uncertainties
Through years of anniversaries
Then five years down the line
You say, 'She was never my type”

Lovers are strangers
There's nothing to discuss
Hearts will be faithful
While the truth is told to someone else (x2)

When you look off
Tell me who you really love (x2)

Fall comes by surprise
Looking into strange eyes
Like school kids who are not friends
In the streets they are oonnected

Huddling in the dark
The only number you call
Magic moments are not lost
They'll outlive all your doubts

Lovers are strangers
There's nothing to discuss
Hearts will be faithful
While the truth is told to someone else (x2)

When you look off
Tell me who you really love (x5)

To Be With Others

Lyrics:
Twice a year seems reasonable to me
To take care of one's extramarital needs

Rise above them
They only grow
So how to deal
With the inevitable

I have seen the result of discipline
Makes a beast what would just been a whim
Always have been one to endorse openness
Now I fear some things best not discussed

To be with others
The need to be with others
For just a couple hours
To be with others
The need to be with others

You're the one I choose
The best I ever knew
How to make light of this thing
As to not give it reign
Like the rest
Doesn't deserve to have power over us
Dread to be a couple harboring secrets

We are smart
We can crack the formula
Learn to laugh about the occasional fuck
Always have been one to endorse openness
Now I fear some things best not discussed

To be with others
The need to be with others
For just a couple hours
To be with others
Without destroying ours

I hope you will like the songs. Enjoy your time.
